Excellent information

I loved this book. I've used the BBT method for 6 months now and wholeheartedly agree with his recommendation for ovulation prediction kits (OPK) as a back up. In my experience, the BBT method is best for retrospective analysis. But it was very helpful for me to have my BBT charts in order to determine when to use an OPK. This saved me a lot of money on OPKs, since I ovulate on day 20 of a 30 day cycle.

This is a well-written and very helpful guide to conceiving. We are both over 40 and this book contain a lot of info on couples trying to get pregnant late in life.

Awesome book--pulls no punches

I really like the way Dr. Williams gives straighforward advice and also doesn't condemn or judge. I feel much more hopeful after reading this book!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Not too long, or too short, non-judgemental and full of facts. I think it's great to actually hear from a Doctor that doesn't have a problem with and actually promotes healthy and natural alternatives to some infertility treatments. I read it all in two sittings and highly recommend it.

Outdated but Still Informative

I found this book to be informative but grossly outdated. It's one of many books I've read about TTCing (Trying To Conceive). This would be okay if it was the *first* book you read before you started TTCing, as it does give a good general overview of the process, tips and tricks, and preconceptual care. However, I would highly recommend Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". Ms. Weschler's book really helped me understand my cycle through BBTing (Basal Body Temperature). Mr. Williams asserts that BBTing has been replaced by OPKs (Ovulation Predictor Kits). I personally don't agree with discouraging BBTing--especially considering there is software out there now that helps to make interpreting your chart much easier. Perhaps Mr. Williams revised edition will be more up-to-date?
