Dan
I ordered this nifty little easy plug-in
thermostat
to control my Dimplex Electric Stove. With this thermostat plugged in to operate the Dimplex, it will completely shut down the entire electric stove to conserve electrical useage as our area just received an approved electric and nat. gas 'rate hike' here in NYS.
[] This Lux thermostat doesn't use any electric current while in use (it has a couple 'button cell' batteries installed in back to operate it's internal digital clock mechanism)
[] This LUX thermostat will automatically turns on the Dimplex electric stove Dimplex CS1205 Compact Electric Stove(or most any other electric heater) according to the need as it senses the cold room
temp
from it's rear mounted thermostat. Works great, once you learn to set the digital timer settings it operates accordingly to your desired room temperature. A Must-have for those using an electric heater/ Dimplex electric stove, to conserve electricity and electric bills.
[] Keep in mind this unit also has a switch that can allow it to operate a FAN during the Summer months, instead of a heater.
[] Quick shipping from Amazon and Lux. Great product and service!! A friend of mine has recently bought 2 Dimplex Dimplex CS1205 Compact Electric Stove Electric stoves and two of these LUX Thermostats to operate her Dimplex stoves, and is also 100% satisfied with the product.

Why hasn't someone done this before?
I bought this for use in my garage workshop, to control a small gas wall furnace/space heater. The heater has its own
thermostat
, but it's not
programmable
and it's terribly inaccurate, prone to wide fluxuations in
temp
erature. This device does a lovely job of keeping the shop comfortable when I expect to be there while letting the place cool off at night to save energy. It's lovely, and such a simple idea that I wonder who no other thermostat manufacturer seems to offer an equivalent product.
Why didn't anyone think of this before!
Simple, efficient and works like a charm! Have an A/C unit that doesn't have a
thermostat
, or the thermostat doesn't work properly? This unit is the answer. It turns my A/C unit on and off automatically keeping my home cool without wasting energy. Easy to use and will pay for itself in a couple of seasons. So why on earth didn't anyone thing of this before?

Great product
Easy to use, durable and priced right. I use it inside a sound proof pump box to turn on the cooling fan when the pump gets to hot. Been close to a year and no issues.
Excellent product
I've used this plug in
thermostat
for about 8 months now for both heaters and air conditioners. The programming is straightforward. I will be purchasing a second unit soon. I highly recommend it as a great cost saving measure. The only drawback is that it does not seem to recognize past midnight on Sunday as weekday programming. I assume weekday programming kicks in at the first Monday interval.
