Baby on the Way
This is an absolutely wonderful book for Families who are doing attachment parenting. It is so hard to find books that are not covered in
baby
bottles adn cribs. This is by far the best
children
's book for attachment parenting that I have found. I highly recommend it to anyone who is using any parenting style.
Especially great for AP parents
We're expecting #2 & bought this book recently for our 2 y/o. She loves it and is actually sleeping with the book tonight! The text is very easy to adapt to our family -- we make it personal to our daughter whenever we read it. The tips for parents at the beginning are a great feature that I haven't seen in other books like this, and there are lots of little extras throughout the story for inquisitive kiddos. It is pro-attachment & pro-breastfeeding which is awesome for our family. My favorite little suprise was the great illustration of a newborn with the umbilical cord & clamp attached -- exactly what my daughter found the most curious as well. I found it reassuring to be able to explain in advance that it wasn't "owie", and the book even gave suggestions on how to explain it on her level. Our family feels so much more prepared!

Especially great for AP families!
We have really enjoyed this book. I was surprised that my daughter, who is 2 1/2, was very into it. I also like that they show breastfeeding and talk about midwives and birth centers. However, it leaves a lot of room for all types of birth and parenting. My daughter especially likes the cutout where she can see the
baby
in mom's belly. The age appropriate yes correct language is also a nice change.
Excellent book for the transition
This book was great for my son to learn about what was about to happen with the new addition to his family. It was age appropriate and had more detailed information if you wanted more. I highly recommend it!

good for my 2 1/2 year old
We got this book to help our child adjust to the concept of the new
baby
coming, and are glad we did. He's reading it (and the other
Sears
"what baby needs") with interest. I'm glad we got it, and would recommend it to others.
