One of the top 5 books I have ever read
This book is simply one of the best, most charming, laugh out loud and enjoyable reads I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. I was at first afraid it may have been blasphemous or disrespectful of Jesus, instead I left the book with a closer knowing and love of Jesus and his human experience. This book explores, in a fictional way, the un-accounted for 30 years of Jesus' life and what may have happened as told by Jesus'
childhood
pal
Biff
. I have bought this book for friends and family and it is the ONLY book I have ever read and when I finished it turned it over and immediatly started reading it over again. SUCH A GREAT BOOK!

Laugh Out Loud Funny
It is just entertaining. No book has ever made me laugh so hard. I get the giggles just thinking about it. and it does make you think "what if?". I love that
Christ
opher Moore writes with such audacity and cleverness. I'll admit that the ending was a little lacking, and fizzled out. But the rest of the book is what made me a CM fan. I've begun reading all of his other books and he's now definitely one of my favorite authors.
Everybody should have a friend like Biff
Christ
opher Moore has been a recent favorite of mine beginning with "Bloodsucking Fiends" and the sequel "You Suck." Next I tackled "

."
At the time of this review I haven't yet completed the book; perhaps fifty more pages left - but rarely has a book made me chuckle or smile as much as "Lamb.." has.
Christ's childhood pal "Biff" is resurrected 2000 years later to write about the many trials and tribulations about Jesus and Biff himself in the early years. Biff is that sarcastic friend whose heart is in the right place but his thoughts are, well, not. This book is easily one of my favorite books of all time.

The first part of the book was great....
... but the second part seemed rushed through. I think this might be because Mr. Moore figured that most people who would read this already had a good familiarity with the Bible. I'm very so-so on my Bible, especially New Testament, so I found the hurried pace and somber tone (yes, I know it is a somber subject) of the second part to be completely off-kilter with the first parts. Disciples and Apostles were added so fast that none of them seemed to develop any personality.
That said, I love the first part. The idea of Jesus having an ordinary side and exploring his
childhood
is great. Also, showing the obvious parallels between eastern philosophies, Judaism, and
Christ
ianity, while showing some of the absurdities of each is a great touch.
All in all, I would recommend this book, but with this warning: Don't take it too seriously. It is a humorous novel, not a religious codex, or an attack on Christianity. Lighten up people.

Hilarious
I read this for my book club. I would not have normally picked up something like this for myself. It was very funny (laugh out loud funny) in places. Some parts were a little long winded. I would definitely read other books by this writer. I really appreciated the afterword. It was obvious from the level of humor that he was a smart guy. I was impressed by the amount of research he did to prepare himself to write this.
