Half Reality Half Fantasy

I have loved every season of SATC, but Season 4 feels different. I didn't want to watch the episode where Carrie & Aidan get back together after she cheats on him with Big. This season brings more reality than fantasy by showing the "humanness" of everyone. Samantha has a human side to her when she has feelings for Richard. I always thought Samantha couldn't love anyone. Carrie finally finds out that she's not ready for marriage when her skin breaks out after trying on a bad wedding dress at Tasty Delight. Charlotte finally sees that not every marriage is perfect when Trey doesn't want to try to have a baby. Miranda decides to keep the baby after fearing that she couldn't have a baby when she is ready to have one. The previous seasons gave me an impression of all the characters. I thought Miranda wouldn't keep the baby, Charlotte would try everything to have a perfect marriage, Carrie would get married to Aidan, and Samantha would never love a man. This season reflects more on the odd realities of dating, marriage, relationships and life. The only fantasies I see is marrying a perfect guy, good looks, great sex & great personality and being able to buy Manolo Blahniks and designer clothes on a writer's salary.

My god I am going to miss these girls...

As most of you know, SEX is now going into it's 6th and final season. Thankfully, the brilliance of this amazing show has been preserved on DVD (and VHS). From Miranda's pregnancy, to Charlotte's divorce, to Carrie's broken engagement, to Samantha's broken heart, the 4th season shows the girls proving that their characters go much deeper than just SEX. What I loved most about this season was how each lady endured a major event in her life, but still remained true to the very essence of her character. Samantha fell in love, yet still remained a 'wild child' of sorts. Carrie and Aidan became engaged, but she stilled remained the same insecure person she always was who loves to analyze everything to death. Miranda became pregnant, but found out that she enjoyed her life the way it was (with or without baby), and Charlotte remained a true believer in marriage and love (even though her fairly brief marriage fell apart). This has been a very careful balancing act on the part of the writers. Have the characters evolve, but allow them to stay true to who they really are. A tough job, but pulled off beautifully. This, I think, is what has kept the show so interesting. The characters themselves haven't changed. Instead, they have experienced a number of different situations in their lives which display their true, and deeper, colors. Enjoy!

A Classic!

I must say that I pretty much ignored SATC when it first came out because I thought it's gonna be just one more of those pretentious but-really-not-so-great sitcoms. It took me a few years to even watch an episode and from that moment I was just... absolutely hooked. SATC is simply the best series that was ever made. The cast, the stories... everything nearly perfect. OK, here and there you get a stinker but that's pretty normal. Compared to other comedy-series, SATC is the only that can satisfy my demand of good and versatile entertainment because SATC is not only comedy but also makes you think sometimes, too.
I can't wait to own the next Season on DVD and Season 6 on Telly!

Love the Sex, Love the City, Hate the...

sound mix! Whenever there is loud music the dialogue gets almost completely drowned out! This has been a problem on all four seasons. Otherwise, this is an excellent box set and I give it my highest recommendation.

Love it Love it Love it

This is a great show! I could hardly wait to get my Sex and the City Season 4 in the mail, but Amazon.com got it here much quicker than I expected! I own the 3 previous seasons of Sex and the City as well, and they are all wonderful. I absolutely love this show.
