A truly fair tax system

Congressman Linder & Mr. Boortz have put together, after millions of dollars have been spent on the research, a relatively clear and simple way to provide tax revenue for the federal government. With this plan, which isn't perfect but tons better than what we currently have, illegals, drug pushers, criminals, welfare recipients - almost everyone who is currently not contributing to federal income - all would be paying taxes on their purchases. Our paychecks would be whole - no "after taxes" income. It would be a huge shot in the arm for the economy. And, it might even make a few people pack up and go home - as their free ride at the taxpayers expense would be over.

Must Read

A must read for anyone who care about their future or the future of their children. Liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, the FairTax is the best thing for America. Unless you already have a good understanding of the FairTax, I recommend you read the first book titled "The Fair Tax" also by Boortz and Linder first.

Entertaining Answers

A pleasure to read. Entertaining, informative, and thought provoking. If this book does not persuade you to favor the Fair Tax, you are ready to complete the transformation of our country to a socialist state.

Fair Tax The Truth

This book is great! If anyone reading this book does not know with a certainty that this is the way to go regarding the tax system in this country, then there is no hope for them!!!

FAIR TAX GREAT BOOK OK

The book took to long to get to the real process. I also thought it could have included more math. In my own personal defense explanation of the fair tax to people, the first 500 pages should go into explaining our existing tax system. LOL Or at least privide additional reading choices.
Some additional information I would have liked to see in the book.
Home mortgage deduction: The existing deduction is not used by 50% of Americans. Those who do can only use the amount over their standard deduction. For most married americans this is typically only for interest paid on a principle balance of 75-100k.
I also expected that with the current subprime fiasco they would mention that the fair tax cut the current debt by at least 16% for all Americans.
I also relised early on that when analyzing the FAIR TAX it was easist to keep gross wages the same while loosing the coorperate tax and the employer match only. I always got embedded taxes at 13-18% that way when I tried to rough it. I am a consultant mine would look like this. FICA match 7.5%, Coorperate taxes 30%*.1 profit margin=3%, Boses FICA and markup /8 employees = 1% Upper Management 1-3%. Throw in 10% drop in the cost of PC software, and office supplies and you get anther 2%. My rate could drop 13-17%. That really almost levels the playing field for outsourcing.
One mistake I saw in the book is when it quoted the FICA tax as 18% exclusive. It is 16% exclusive. A person making $100 gross really makes 107.5 and pays $15 to FICA. 15/92.5 = 16.2%. Half of FICA is expressed in inclusive terms and half in exclusive.
