Rule-breaking, non-devotional way to bring God to LIFE.

Even if it's not the "quality" writing of an experienced author, the story here brings God to life in a real way for people who have lost faith in the church and its rituals. If you have ever hated - been terribly lost in anger at a person or at God, this is a must read. Altho it is a work of fiction, Willie Young takes you to that place of grief and anger and pain - and brings you through it in the character of Mack. If you have suffered as a "survivor" in the chaos of life; been unable to forgive an unspeakable act by persons known or unknown; been alienated by so-called Christians and estranged from the peace God's love brings, you need to read this story and experience the fractal beauty of life. As with "Mack", it may take a stretch of imagination to digest, but it is worth it! Not a study in forensics or traditional theology, but a clarifying and simplifying way to look at God's plan, and understanding how we all fit and are loved.

An Awesome Read

The Shack by William Young

While vacationing with three of his children, Mackenzie (Mack) Philips' youngest daughter, Missy is abducted. After an exhaustive search in the deep wilderness of Oregon, evidence is discovered in an abandoned shack. It is apparent that Missy is the victim of a brutal murder.

Four years later Mack receives a cryptic note. Is it from the muderer taunting him? Is the perverted fiend trying to lure Mack away so he can murder the rest of his family? Or, no matter how impossible, is it for real? Whatever the outcome may be, Mack determines to find the answer.

After seeing his family to safety, he heads for The Shack. Once there, he must confront his darkest nightmares as he anguishes over the questions; Where was God when Missy was taken? Why didn't God stop it? Was Missy's death a punishment for the things Mack had done? What Mack discovers will change his life forever.

This is an awesome read! Imaginative, entertaining, and thought provoking. It is more than a story of loss and healing, it is a life raft in a sea of uncertainty. I laughed, I cried, and I marveled at the beauty of this little book. I wager you will too.

Come on, take a trip to The Shack, confront your own predjudices... if you dare.

New For Today, Yet Never Changing!

A very fresh view of THE GODHEAD, It fits our thinking for today only because of our finite minds...It's not scripture and not written to be taken as such...But what a brillant way to show possibilties on why God doesn't intefere with mans decisions.... But It still shows that we need a Reedeemer!

Shaken, not stirred!

Never have I been so shaken by a book! I have been stirred, but not shaken by other books. My thoughts about God were so much like the author's. Old man, long white beard, dressed in flowing white robes. I needed to be shaken out of my stale, out of date view of God and see him/her(??) as real and active. I love the part of the book that describes God as an adjective not a noun. I had never thought of that before--but it is so true. That book made me feel more loved than I thought possible-I never wanted it to end. My life is forever changed and I can't thank God enough for sending the inspiration to Mr. Young who has succeeded in changing things in my life I never thought possible. (i.e. forgiving those who have so hurt you) Thank you Mr. Young and Thank You God!!

Quite interesting and keeps you wanting to find out more.
There were surprises that I never dreamed of about Mack.
It certainly makes you think about life and how I choose to live it.
Young did a fantastic job!
