My favorite show, in my favorite season

Star Trek, season 2 was the best of the show and it wouldn't even be had it not been for the big fan letter-writing campaign to the network to keep the show on. This is my favorite show and I hope the (...)at Sci-Fi network are happy that they now have another reason to show this pure classic at inhuman hours.

season 2 is the best!

Ok, I just picked up this great box set. It contains all 26 season 2 episodes and some very good bonus features. Season 2 is my personal favorite out of the 3 seasons of TOS. However, I still must complain about the episodes being in date-aired order instead of production order..A big mistake by Paramount..Also the price of this set is way to high..Its only 7 dvds instead of the 8 dvds of season 1, yet its the same price as season 1...that stinks...You can get the complete first season of "Lost In Space" on 8 DVDs for under $60.00...Trek should be about that price also..Also, another minor complaint is that there is no chapter break after the "Final Frontier Intro" so here we go having to hit the forward button to get past the intro..

If you have the single dvds that has 2 episodes per dvd, I recommend you keep them and dont buy this set..That set is in production order and u get the chapter break after the intro. Also, the quality is NO DIFFERENT than the ones of the box set.

"Doomsday Machine" missing music cue fixed.

In case anyone is wondering, the musical cue that was missing from the original DVD release of the Doomsday Machine episode (heard right after Kirk says "I'm gonna ram her right down that thing's throat") has been restored in this box set. So, props to Paramount for that.

As for the rest of the set, well, it is what it is. If you're reading this, you probably don't require synopses of each episode on it. If you like the show already, and if you can handle the hefty price tag, get it.

Wonderful, but needs a few improvements....

Actually, I rate the shows 5 stars, but give the extras where they interviewed Bill Shatner, good, but why did they interview the man with the golden voice when he had a cold? Also, I would have liked to see a DeForest Kelley interview put in there, even though he passed away. Last but not least, why doesn't Sulu have his picture on one of the DVDs? Much better than the alien pictures. I can't compare it with season one because I haven't purchased it yet, but I plan to get all 3 eventually. By the way, those complaining about the price, it is expensive, but isn't it better than taping it from the Sci Fi Channel? At least it's not as bad as what Paramount did to Norhern Exposure. All in all, I will enjoy these episodes to the hilt.
