What is your major malfunction numb nuts?

I am enthralled by this masterpiece. This one and The Shining are by far the best Kubrick films. Lee Ermy is the man. He really was in the marine corps for 11 years. Every performance is brilliant. I can't say enough about this classic. This is a must have.

War Is Hell

Like General Sherman said war is hel and this was true during the Civil War, Vietnam and Iraq. Full Metal jacket epitamize this true, people are dehumanized by this experience butv at the same time you stablisb bond with your fellow soldiers that go beyond war.

Why no Widescreen?????

Why has there not been a widescreen DVD edition of this movie? Great film. In nessence, this film is Kubrick's answer to the hyper-emotional, neo-jingoistic drivel that passed for Vietnam movies.

I just want to see a widescreen edition with the original aspect ratio maintained.
