Lust is breathtaking

Lust, Caution is very intense. The interplay between all the characters crackle like popcorn. It's also an interesting history lesson. Don't watch this movie unless you are well adjusted. And make sure you will not be interrupted during it. The continuity and tension would be greatly diminished if you interrupt this movie while watching.
This movie is breathtaking.

Another Ang Lee Masterpiece

Without revealing the plot, all I can say is this Ang Lee masterpiece places you inside the mind and soul of the characters. The performances by Tony Leung and Wei Tang is superb. I purchased this for my permanent "movie" collection. ( p.s. Nudity, but tastefully done).

Lust, Caution and then no suspense

This is a really good, long film, but I wanted it to be really great and memorable. To see Shanghai like it is depicted is worth a lot of points; essentially the cinematography is perfect all the way through. And that carries on into the celebrated sex scenes...they are not pornographic. They are explicit, make no mistake, but they show torment and frustration and brutality and denial. Tony Leung is the star and he should be praised for this role; he is one of the best actors in the world. But after all is said and done this movie cries out for suspense. Ang Lee could have done that just once. I kept thinking of the "The Good German" and how it never made it happen...suspense that is. And they tried. In this film there is no real attempt at that only the air of fear and hate. Call the guys up over at "The Bourne (fill-in the blank)" and ask for a little help. I am talking "The Counterfeit Traitor"-type suspense. Better yet, "Army of Shadows". Could have been a great movie!
