More high profile action in Paradise . . .

Excellent book. Like most Parker books, his narrative style creates a vivid picture of the scenes and actions which take place in them-a talk show host 'hanging' in the balance, former spouses shooting evil glares at one another, a pompous politician who believes he should be the first to know all (don't know about you, but I like it when a politician gets humbled).

Then there's the man who must be ecstatic as he finds out he may actually be able to become a father when all hope had been lost.

I especially like the developing character of Molly in Stone's police department. What a great combination of loving mom, kickass cop and strong, old-fashioned Irish woman. Go Molly!

I am disappointed at which woman Jesse chose. Doesn't mean the other is permanently out of the picture though. Think carefully, Jesse . . .

Overall, a very good mystery novel with many emotional personal stories.

A wonderful read from Robert Parker!

Robert Parker has perfected the art of delving deeply into his characters with a minimum of description and dialogue. His stories flow and the characters in his book seem so real! I really care about the people in these books. My friends and I discuss them as if they really exist. Very engaging and entertaining...a joy to read.

Less Sunny

This, like all of the Jesse Stone novels is an enjoyable adventure. Having seen Tom Selleck play Jesse in a couple of TV adaptions only enhances the readability. Robert Parker has created a superb small town Chief of Police who is extremely believable even with all of his issues (alcohol and women). However, I don't like the ploy of Parker bringing one of his other lead characters (Sunny Randall) into the story. Each of these stand on their own extremely well and only confuse the issue when together. In spite of that, this is a good book that is well worth reading. The outcome is predictable early but it's fun.
