I successfully passed CLEP Biology using this book
This book prepares you for every possible topic that may be on the test. I failed this test twice before. The first time I didn't have this book. The second time I didn't read every section or take all the practice test. After studying the entire book, taking each practice question at the end of each chapter, I passed the CLEP
Biology
with ease. This book does have one short coming. It only has one complete test that would prepare you for the exam. My suggestion is to purchase AP Biology (REA), it has six practice test.
Very helpful
I didn't have any trouble on the AP
Biology
exam this year. It may have been the fact that I had a great teacher who only taught us what we needed to know, but also this book. I used it to review the weekend before the test and I felt like the topics had been refreshed in my mind. It gave a good overview of the material and gave the main points of the course in a simple way. Another thing for anyone taking an AP course is that pictures and diagrams are very helpful. If you draw the diagrams over on your own, it helps create a more ingrained picture of what it is you're learning and being able to "see" it helps with comprehension. The book gives some very basic diagrams that even artistically challenged people (such as myself) can duplicate them. For the course, the sections on each topic were helpful in studying for unit tests and provided a summarized, easy to read outline (in case your notes are like mine and are a little scattered). These are just some tips on how I found the class easy. I should know in about a week when I get my scores if they really worked.

Great AP Bio book-- Not just for review, but it can teach too
This is a great AP Bio book--all the information is plainly laid out, along with practice questions at the end of each topic. It really helped on free-response. This book will help on SATII bio too--seriously. I just wish I had gotten this earlier in the year so I could have really studied everything more in-depth instead of just skimming (my class completely skipped plants and kingdoms), but I was still able to get a 5. I credit this book for that.
Great Cliff Notes
I received the book in a short amount of time...that is always good!
perfect ...except if you're missing chunks
this was a GREAT book. it covered everything that was on the exam (i just took it this morning haha) and it did not include too much unnecessary information. but this is a REVIEW BOOK... meaning you should not use this to learn the information!! i'll admit that there were a few topics during this school year that didnt actually learn and just "got by"... so when it came time to review for the AP, i had a few chunks of information missing. The Cliff's review book was not made to teach you this information. if you don't underSTAND a concept, i would advise you to use "5 steps for a 5", which is a much easier read. (the only problem with that book alone is that it does not use enough "standard" terms)
