My favorite book!!!!!!!
It was the best book I ever read. It had everything I wanted in a book including my favorite author Jerry Spinelli. I loved the way he wrote it. You can actually see the scene in your head. It is a great book for boys. It talks a lot about Football as well as other things that kids do when they're not playing sports. Bottomline is that it is a very underated book.
Crash
Crash
is about a boy named Crash that has many obstacles in his life. He got his name Crash because he he a great football player. It all starts with Penn Webb. Penn is a new student and starts to become friends with Crash. When Crash starts to be mean to Penn they stop being friends. Now comes along Mike. Mike becomes best friends with Crash and together they have funn playing pranks on Penn. When Jane Forbes comes to school Crash starts to like her, but they funny thing is she is not interested in Crash. Most of the time she hangs out with Penn Webb. Crash starts football and has a great season, but the low point is, Penn Webb tries out for cheerleading and makes it!
When Crash's grandfather, Scooter, comes to live with Crash's family here is when all the bad events start to happen. Duing Scooter's stay he gets a stroke! He is able to live, but will have a hard time recovereing.
I reccomend this book to a person who is sporty or emotional books because the story is about football and is very sad because the grandfather gets a stroke. I enjoyed reading Crash.

Spinelli, J. (1996).
Crash
. New York: Scholastic.
Synoposis: An unusual friendship slowly develops between two totally opposite characters. When John Coogan, otherwise known as Crash, and Penn Webb meet for the first time their relationship is at best rocky. Crash can't think of anything better to do with and to a scrawny kid like Penn than to place him in embarrassing situations. But Penn teaches Crash a valuable lesson about friendship and loyalty.
Evaluation: Spinelli's masterful portrayal of the two main characters in Crash is of an exceptional quality. The development and transformation of the two characters are elements that young readers can easily relate to. He is able to convey the realities of bullying and its effects on those that are exposed to it.

Crash, Review By J.Reno
I thought this book was very deep.
Crash
has a very gritty plot to it that coaxes the reader into keeping their eyes panning across the page. This book lacks in sentence fluency but basically this is because it is a children's novel. Kids that play sports will like this book because it talks a lot about football. The book is unique in the fact that it addresses real issues and problems that kids can relate to instead of the cheery, fantasy, wonder world books that you would usually find in the children's section of library. This book does not glamorize or sugarcoat anything and it seems like it could almost be a diary or even a movie. On the downside this book is bland and it's very hard to get into if you don't like sports or realistic books. The book gets a little repetitive trying to fill in the gaps between the climax and the falling action. This book takes some patience or just a real fascination in the book or the author, Jerry Spinelli. Some might find themselves putting the book back on a shelf and never reading all the way through it if they don't like literature about everyday situations. This is a great starter book for children that have trouble finding pleasure in reading. I would suggest this book for children between the ages of 9 and 12. Although I had my doubts about his book, it is still a solid novel and it will not bore you. Crash has a powerful moral that will stay in the readers' minds for years to come and I highly recommend this book.
