Why Make Your Baby Cry to Get What She Needs?
This book just makes sense! If you feed your
baby
until she is fully satisfied, she will be happy and she will
sleep
well. If you have a baby who is sleeping well, she will wake up well rested and happy. If you have a well rested baby, she will eat well until she is fully satisfied. Is there much more to it?
I took my daughter to her 2 month check up today. She weighed 14 pounds. She has gained 7 pounds in two months (breast fed). She also sleeps for 10 hours at night. There are days where she doesn't cry at all. She wakes up knowing that she will be fed. There is no need for her to cry to tell me she is hungry. She smacks her lips and tries to eat her fingers as soon as she wakes up because she knows it's time to eat. After she is finished nursing, she has her wake time. When I lay her down for her nap, sometimes she fusses a little bit, but most of the time she stares at the flowers on her bumper pad until she falls asleep. After she is napping for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, I go check on her. She is usually awake, cooing at the flowers.
This is my third baby I have done Baby
Wise
with. My children are happy, healthy, and well adjusted. Baby Wise babies are happy babies who don't really need to cry all that often because they know what to expect from the schedule they are on. I don't need to wait for my baby to cry to know what her needs are. That is the beauty of Baby Wise. Why make your baby cry to get what she needs?
Some babies are just fussier than others. I know this because of my second child. Baby Wise worked for him as well.
Read the book. After reading all of the negative comments, I am sure that they have not read the book. And if they have, they must have skipped
over
the parts about schedule flexibility and understanding the baby's cues. This book is all about having a happy baby.

great book
This is a wonderful book. To some new
parents
it may seem harsh, but the time you put into these techniques will pay off in the end. I have two unbelievably active boys who, because of this book, love to
sleep
. They still go to bed and nap when they are told without any fight to this day! They are always well rested so they are much happier.
Babywise saved our Sleep and our Sanity
After having
Baby
wise
reccomended to us by 10 or 15
parents
of happy, healthy babies, we decided to try it out. I went online and read a bunch of reviews from people who were against it (mostly because of it's origins, not because of it's content) and decided to wait a month to try it out with my beautiful baby girl. The first month was a mess. We couldn't figure out if she was hungry, tired, in need of a diaper change, or if she was just being fussy. At 1 month of age, I decided to give it a try. Within 2 days she was
sleep
ing between 6-8 hours in a row at night, and by 6 weeks she was sleeping consistently 8 hours a night. Because of the routine involved, it took the guesswork out of her crying - and nearly eliminated it. Granted, because of our parenting styles, we DO still occasionally rock our daughter to sleep, and we do step away from the schedule when she needs it - but that is the beauty of Babywise - it is Parent Directed, meaning that we, as parents, are enabled to use our common sense. It is empowering for mothers and fathers, and everyone who meets our daughter is in awe of how much of a "good baby" she is. The truth is, she is as good of a baby as we are at keeping her routine consistent. I recently travelled with her cross country, by myself, and she DID NOT CRY on the plane. This has nothing to do with anything other than the ability of keeping her routine consistent.
I reccomend Babywise to any parent - and before someone scares you away from it because they don't like Christians, try it for a week. You'll be amazed how much more calm and predictable life will be with your baby.

Babywise
The ideas presented make sense. We will try them with our upcoming newborn.
It works IF YOU READ IT
It cannot be a "coincidence" that this has worked for so many people (as suggested by another reviewer). Maybe it works best for those who read it and understand that it is a
guide
line (not an instruction manual) for providing structure for your child. The book clearly states how many wet and dirty diapers a child should have at each stage of his development, so if your
baby
has failure to thrive, then you didn't read the book all the way through. Ezzo never says not to feed your hungry baby.
I found fault with many of the other criticisms of this book, but will not go into detail with each one. My only suggestion is use it, see how it's working, talk to your doctor, and take cues from your baby. Nothing works for everyone, but this sure has worked for a lot of folks! Give it a try!
