Inspiring
i dont care if this book is a hoax.... it's just so amazing, to hear a story about somebody who ruined her life, and then got on the right track after a tragic accident. i think the ending is really abrupt, which caused me to think it is maybe fake. but the story is really good, i couldn't put it down. fake or not, it's great!!
Go Ask Alice
Do you have any Questions?
Have you ever kept a diary before? Well I sure have, but I've only been able to keep it for at the most 3 days. The book Go
Ask
Alice
is a diary written by an unknown person. The main character is Alice, and she does keep a diary for more than 3 days. In fact she records her thought in it for a little more than a year.
Alice's diary is what keeps her alive as she copes wither drug addiction. She records her thoughts and concerns about her uncertain future, and the lack of lover she receives from her mom. Alice and her grandparents have a very close relationship and that is where she feels she can be herself and express her feelings. That is why when they pass away everything spirals out of control.
Go Ask Alice is one of the best books I have ever read. You really shouldn't judge a diary, but if I had to I would give it 10 out of 10. Once you open the book it captures you in a sense that you won't be able to put the book down until the very last word. I would recommend this book to people the ages of 13 and older. It's a very descriptive book and can be a little scary at times. Go Ask Alice is one of those books that you will never be able to forget. Well, al least I didn't

Deterrent
I distinctly remember reading this book when I was in my early teens and -swear to god- I truly think the fear of god the ending put in me played a major part in ensuring that I never tried any illegal drug. No, not pot, not anything else illegal. To a 14 year old who led a pretty sheltered life anyway reading about the hell this girl went through, only to seem to try to get it together and her death be mentioned as a quasi-postscript, was shattering. It's a very hard book to get through and, despite the fact that I consider it a good book for young adolescents to read to avoid the pitfalls of drugs - I confess it'll be tough when my daughter reaches that age since I know what awaits her between the pages. Will I recommend it to her? I guess I will see when the time comes.

three stars for the comedic value
This book made me crack up repeatedly. It's utterly rediculous and obviously fake and is indeed the literary equivalent of reefer madness. I'd like to point out that the idea of dealing to elementary school kids is rediculous because just as William Burroughs said in Junky, they have no steady source of money so even if they did manage to get hooked, they'd just beg you for handouts rather than paying you for it.
