Rosenberg: A Prophet

This book was recommended to me by another Christian believer and frequent traveler to Middle East Biblical sites including Israel. Joel Rosenberg may well be a modern prophet of our times and future. An Evangelical Christian, born as a Jew, he has a good grasp of the Bible, and in this, his first nonfiction book, he shows the reader how to relate Bible prophecy to the headlines of today's international and national events, and vice-versa.
As a seminary graduate and self study devotee of Bible prophecy I was particularly interested in Rosenberg's work and established reputation with his fiction books. (Please see my review of Bible Prophecy for Blockheads by Douglas Connelly, Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2002.) Rosenberg does not disappoint in this book.
I am not ready yet to start wearing a sandwich board and standing on street corners pronouncing "Repent Now, Jesus is coming." I am convinced, however, in part due to this book: Bible prophecies have been and are being fulfilled. We are and have been in the end times. (I prefer to call the times those of a new beginning.) Jesus is coming. We are not given though to know when exactly.
Rosenberg makes clear this pending fulfillment so evident in relatively recent past, current and predictable future events. He turns discerning readers to a new way of looking at today's headlines and the much smaller stories buried in the media mass of information; some that may appear meaningless unless understood as Rosenberg understands them.

Critical Reading for Our Times

Epicenter is a dangerous book! Upon reviewing it, there is a very real chance that reader will understand what's happening in the Middle East and how it impacts us here in America. Joel Roesenberg's thorough research and direct presentation drive home the need to be informed. I highly recommend this book for those who don't like living with head in the sand.

An incredibly insightful book

I enjoyed this book very much. I am a teacher (and student) of theology and more specifically eschatology (the study of the end times/propehcy). I have enjoyed the authors insight into the current geo-political world with a keen eye on scripture. I highly recommend that every evangelical Christian read this authors work.

Epicenter

It is very refreshing to come across a writer who sets out his research in such a methodical way. It is easy to follow, and he opens up the vision and prophecy of Ezekiel as it is happening in real life. Joel has his finger on the pulse and is wonderfully led by the Holy Spirit in opening up the Scriptures. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to any new writing on this subject.
