a real eye opener/fascinating read
I bought this book for my niece whose son has an inoperable brain tumour. Once I opened it up how
ever
I could not put it down and I feel it has changed my own life in a completely positive way. I have my own medical issues and have been ill a lot in the past five years. Now I have given up meat al
most
entirely and milk products entirely and I feel 50-100% better in a few weeks.
My niece is reading the book now, not sure if she will be able to convince her son to follow the
diet
, he hates vegetables but since milk proteins are the worst offenders maybe she can get him off milk and cheese.
I highly recommend this book to anyone. I bought an extra copy for my niece to put in the lending library at their local cancer society office.

Very useful support for a change in eating habits
This book summarizes the incredible large-scale
study
of
diet
and
health
that draws some potentially uncomfortable conclusions about the typical American diet. As a motivation to seriously consider making the switch to a vegan diet, the book is powerful. I only gave it four stars because I felt it could have presented more of the study's data and details and spent less time recounting the efforts of the food and drug industry to promote different ideas. The events covered in the fourth section began to come across as a bit of a paranoid rant (though I don't doubt at all that it is true).

Compelling!
This book was suggested to me as a way I might start thinking of re-evaluating my
diet
. I was convicted by the research and conclusions and have DEFINITELY re adjusted my diet to minimize the food groups mentioned.
I have passed the book on to 2 people and they too are very interested in its conclusions!
I highly recommend it!
