Signs (Vista Series) Abigail Breslin, Rory Culkin
Touchstone Pictures, 2003
Swing Away Like Orson Wells' radio broadcast of "The War of Worlds", Signs is incredibly scary, with a tense buildup and suspense worthy of someone with ADD. It's a great sci-fi story, with one MASSIVE flaw. If the goal is a simple, mindless scare, then Signs does a fair job.

The Patriot (Extended Cut) [Blu-ray] Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger
Columbia Pictures, 2007
Patriotic Americans While the movie of course was a hollywood creation it was never the less pretty historically factual. It depicted accurately the horrors and hardships the Carolinians suffered in order to achieve America's independence. My great grandfather was one of them.

We Were Soldiers (Widescreen Edition) Mel Gibson, Madeleine Stowe
Paramount, 2002
Great Movie It was even better in HD. The HD experience is like being at the theater. The video and sound were great and of course the movie is one of the rare pieces out of Hollywood worth watching in the first place.

The Road Warrior [Blu-ray] Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence
Warner Home Video, 2007
Still the Best of the Post Apocalyptic Genre This is really the one that started it all. The movie that every other post-apocalyptic film has ever tried to live up to but never could. The Road Warrior is the best of it's kind and is still top of the heap in this style of film. Among the many clones that have come ...

Signs [Blu-ray] Cherry Jones, Patricia Kalember
Touchstone / Disney, 2008
Another quality release from Disney Studios. I have alway's been impressed with Disney releases on Blu-Ray. They have really taken the time to put out the titles when they are ready to meet the high demands of Blu-Ray. Though this title does not equal Pirates Of The Carribean, or other Pixar films such as Cars ...

The Year of Living Dangerously Mel Gibson, Sigourney Weaver

haunting images I have no idea where people place this spooky little film in their list of favorites, but "The Year of Living Dangerously" has been in my top five since I first saw it. As "Bladerunner" gave us haunting images of the near future, images based on man's diabolical ...

The Road Warrior Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence
Warner Home Video, 1997
Unique and Marvelous. I first saw this movie over 20 years ago and didn't like it because I didn't like any of the characters. Flashforward two decades and I now like at least six of them. That tells you the way time builds human understanding. As a kid I assumed that the world was a good ...
