A Letter to Three Wives
Jeanne Crain
,
Linda Darnell
20th Century Fox, 2005
All star cast
I love this movie with so many movie stars. It has a different twist to the plot and you don't know until the end who Addie has run off with. If you like old movies, this is a good one.
The Vikings
Kirk Douglas,
Tony Curtis
MGM, 2002
A joyous romp that offers everything you could ask for in an adventure movie
The title sequence sets the tone of The Vikings perfectly: the Bayeaux Tapestry as animated by UPA with narration by Orson Welles. Whereas a lot of Sixties epics became so introspective and glum that the genre ended up disappearing up its own backside, this 1958 romp ...

A must for any John Wayne fan.
What I love about this collection is not just the selection of his movies over the years of his career but also the different characters he gets to play. Reap The Wild is set in the 1840s Key West and John Wayne plays a sea captain. And he's not even the main ...
Lust for Life
Kirk Douglas,
Anthony Quinn
Warner Home Video, 2006
I can't take this anymore!
I gave this film a watch recently, after a period of about 12 years. I am still impressed by Kirk Douglas. He is DEFINITELY one of Hollywood's best actors! In "Lust For Life", he may very well have done his best work. Of course, he can't be ignored with his portrayal ...
Superman - The Movie [Blu-ray]

Vass Anderson
Warner Home Video, 2006
R.I.P. Christopher Reeves.
Can there ever be another Superman. No. Reeves will always be the man of steel no matter how many times Hollywood tries to remake the movie. The acting is just so so. But we didn't see this movie for the acting. We saw it to see what Superman could do. What ...

Words fail me
I'm one of those people who cries easily in movies. I cry at sad parts, I cry at happy parts, I have no problem with turning on the water-works. I have seen a lot of great movies in my time, many of which have indeed caused me to tear up, but NOTHING prepared me for ...

Ace in the Hole - Criterion Collection
Kirk Douglas
Criterion, 2007
Billy Wilder makes us squirm, and Ace in the Hole makes it worthwhile: It's an excellent film
"Don't worry, Leo. I'm your pal." That's Chuck Tatum speaking. He's a hot-shot big city reporter who has been fired from every top paper he's ever worked for. Now he's hit bottom. He works for the Albuquerque Sun=Bulletin, a small town daily which puts yard sales on ...

Is Paris Burning?

A city on the edge of destruction
If the tagline for It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World was `Everyone whose ever been funny is in it,' then Rene Clement's epic could almost lay claim that `Anyone who's ever been French is in it,' assembling Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Charles Boyer, Leslie Caron, ...

Truely an amazing movie! The acting is perfect. The Australian landscape is breathtaking and awesome. The Man From Snowy River is still one of the best westerns made.

Quintessential Western Drama!
This is a perfect example of an era when Hollywood made classic movies in the highest standard with top talent and great cinematography. This film should be ranked right up there in the category of great western drama. Hal Wallis was one of filmdom's great directors ...

Good copy of this movie
I liked this movie when I first viewed it in the theater. This is a good copy. Some reviews of earlier versions document a bad version. For a time travel fiction story this is one of my favorites. Decent story line and it keeps up your interest.
