Best Movie Ever!!!*^.^*
This movie is the greatest and the biggest box office success. I really love the new and improved roars made for Baragon and King Ghidorah(espcially King Ghidorah's roar). I don't like the way they had designed Mothra. I think they gotten the idea from the armored ...

Jellyfish horror............
This may not be Toho's best movie. But it has its moment. You get the same actors from the Godzilla films, and the effect are great for its time. The best thing about this dvd it comes with the original a.i.p. dubb. As a g-fan I had to pick this up.

Lighten up, folks!
I love this movie. It's extremely corny, most of the footage is stock, but it is so entertaining. I think the Godzilla gang really had fun making this one.Minilla is ridiculous, but remember, this is in a kid's dream sequence. His dreams WOULD be made up of stock ...

What's Up, Tiger Lily?
Broad, wacky, and extremely funny, "What's Up" is not for everyone, but if you're in need of some divine silliness, you cannot do better. Characteristic of Woody's earlier work, not every gag works, but there are so many of them that you come out way ahead, with cheeks ...

Once were warriors
"Ronin Gai" is almost a metaphor for the entire Samurai genre. Bereft of meaning, no longer following a cause, once powerful figures struggle to keep their dignity, or else they surrender to their despair and try to forget their faded glory in drink and easy ...

Atragon- One of Toho's Best
Atragon is a very good movie. Great even. Even though the infamous daikaiju, Manda, is only in it for a short amount of time. The special effects are great and the acting is splendid. The storyline is original and different from most other Toho creations. But that ...

Deflating the romantic figure of the samurai
This excellent samurai film skewers the self-important preoccupation with duty and honor that this genre of film can lend itself to. Genta (Tatsuya Nakadai) has given up the life of a samurai to pursue the life of a wandering yakuza after duty compelled him to kill a ...

Satire without cynicism
This is a great little film with lots of interesting (and hilarious and erotic) twists and turns. I'm always a little put off when I hear "satire", but this is satire that never desends into cynicism . The film makers obviously enjoyed making this. I also highly ...

"Jin-Roh" + "Alphaville" = surreal "Spectacle"
As a fan of Mamoru Oshii's action-packed, yet intellectually provocative anime films, like "Ghost in the Shell", "Patlabor", and "Jin-Roh", I was expecting something interesting from his live-action films. I started by watching "Avalon," which lived up to my ...
