Dead Gorgeous
Fay Ripley, Helen McCrory

Pbs (Direct), 2003

Plenty of twists and turns in Dead Gorgeous
We would not be a bit surprised if Dead Gorgeous had been directed by Alfred Hitchcock, which is a great tribute to director Sarah Harding. Twists and turns abound in this story of a murderous femme fatale, Antonia, played to the hilt by Helen McCrory, and her not so ...

The Misadventures of Mr. Wilt [Region 2]
Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith

Where's my book?
Read WILT or another of Tom Sharpe's books before seeing this movie to enjoy it; if not, it may not seem funny. Though I laughed a few times through the movie, it did not translate too well from the book. The movie rushed through many scenes and missed much of ...

Son of the Pink Panther
Roberto Benigni, Herbert Lom

MGM (Video & DVD), 2006

The next generation of funny....
I did see this movie and to be honest with you, the critics were a little too harsh. Cause, this movie was actually quite good. Basically, when a vacationing princess is kidnapped. It's up to Chief Inspector Dreyfus to find her. At first, Dreyfus doesn't have any luck. ...

Babel (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)
Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett

Paramount, 2007

Another Gem from the guys that made Amores Perros and 21 Grams.
These guys make astounding films. It is amazing how everything links and is not forced at all. It is too bad that the writer and director had a falling out after this film came out. Hopefully they resolve their differences because they mae such incredible films. It ...

The Legend of Bagger Vance [Region 2]
Will Smith, Matt Damon

Great movie for any golfer
I bought this movie for my Dad for fathers day. This is a good movie, but a really great movie for any golfer.

The Sculptress
Pauline Quirke; Caroline Goodall; Christopher Fulford; James McCarthy; Lynda Rooke; Maureen Hibbert; Sophie Stanton; Michael Percival; Dermot Crowley; Jay Villiers; Timothy Bateson; Maureen O'Brien; Felicity Finch; Angela Belton; John Bowler; David Horovitch; Ann Davies; Joolia Cappleman; Wendy Nottingham; Jim Barclay

WGBH BOSTON, 2006

Loved the book -- liked the movie.
The character in the movie wasn't quite as scary to me as in the book. Also the writer character in the movie wasn't as compelling as the book but over all the story is good and there is always a new twist just when you think you have it figured out.

Murder Rooms - The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes
Charles Edwards (VI), Claire Harman

Mpi Home Video, 2006

Doyle before Holmes
Ian Richardson has played Holmes previously. The same characterization, with a bit more warmth, shows up in his Dr. Joseph Bell. For anyone who enjoys Victorian mysteries, this should provide delight.

Falling for a Dancer
Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, Dermot Crowley

Bfs Entertainment, 2001

A Pleasant Surprise
I had first seen "Falling for a Dancer" as a BBC miniseries on Romance channel. i fell in love with the story...and the times..(my father was in WWII...... I had no idea who any of the stars were , had never heard of Colin Farrell.., but I was captured from the ...
