Ben Heppner Sings Paolo Tosti
Anybody who records Tosti songs today faces formidable competition from 100 years of recordings.Battistini, Caruso, Ponselle, Bjoerling, and Pavarotti---to name some Tosti interpreters I'm familiar with---set high standards in this material. In this august company Mr. ...

Paul Goodwin's interpretation the best
Paul's arrangement of this masterpiece is clearly "the best". I wish it was available on dvd as the theatrical part adds a lot to the total enjoyment. I have seen it performed on tv and it is outstanding.

Very Satisfying, Stimulating Listening!
Cooman clearly knows how to write music that is challenging but also accessible to the ear and satisfying. The piano concerto is playful, the sonata is melodic and as I listen to the symphonies, I can hear the "love and rain" and the spiritual heart of the Ave Maria. ...

Unusual and engrossing repertoire
With this remarkable CD, the Gough Duo - violinist Rachel and her organist husband Rupert - demonstrate the path they are forging through neglected yet intriguing music. The combination of violin and piano is one of the most successful in chamber music, but this disc ...

Harmonia Mundi Fr., 1998
So crisp, alive, and electric your hair will stand on end.
Easily the best CD I've purchased this year. Vivaldi performed on these old instruments isn't the Vivaldi your parents listened to. Fabulous musicianship, thoughtful interpretation, rich instrument tones and "front row" accoustics make recording magic. I'm buying a ...

Cala Records, 1994
While other labels record the same major works, Cala adds exceptional value to its recordings by including attractive, intriguing rarities and unusual versions of well-known compositions. This Ravel/Poulenc pairing, featuring some of London's finest chamber musicians, is no exception. Among several standard chamber works are rarely heard pieces ...
