Drippingly romantic!
I played this during my dinner party this week and several of my guests commented on how beautiful the music was! It is a lovely collection and has not one single track that I want to skip when it plays!

best of its genre
I have long been a "newgrass" fan, following the likes of David Grisman, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, et al, for more than two decades. I have admired their craftsmanship, their passion, their virtuosity. Over the years, some of these gifted musicians have left the "newgrass" ...

Great Recording
The Kreisler pieces are played exceptionally well. The one disc alone is worth the price of the double disc collection. Great playing.

Enjoying the violin
After I bought the Ladies in Lavender I had to buy Johuas Bell music. I heard him play the Brahms violinconcert april 2003 and became a fan. One period in my life I almost hated violin music maybe because I was playing the piano with my brother violin. Later I ...

Pretty good
I am not much into classical music.. Read about Mozart and wanted to make sure I listen to one of the all time classics. Though I may not be qualified enough to review a classic, On a whole it was a pleasant experience for me and a good add on to my car, especially ...

So I'm just learning violin...

Meyer & Bottesini Concertos
Edgar Meyer
Sony, 2002
Excellent Variety, Outstanding Execution
This album is a must have. No one ever really thinks of double bass used much as a solo instrument. It tends to fade into the woodwork in symphony orchestra as the foundation of orchestral works. Enter Edgar Meyer. Meyer is probably one of the most accomplished ...

No brainer -- buy it!
This is a great and inexpensive introduction to the concerti of Sergei Prokofiev. And there's not a boring piece--or performance--in the box. I'm generally not a big Ashkenazy fan these days, but many of his earlier recordings were often very fine, and these are ...
