Charley Boorman

Great book
Great book that should be a companion to the DVD set. I do recommend that instead of this book you buy the illustrated edition. MOre pictures and the same verbage. But, buy at least one of them.
Long Voyage Back: A Novel
Luke Rhinehart
Naval Institute Press
, 1995
Just like you were there & very believable!
Although this book was written in 1983, it is just as scary and applicable today. Rhinehart wrote a very realistic book about nuclear holocaust that could still happen, except probably not by the Russians against the US. The scenario of thieves, pirates and desperate ...

Starter Book for the rest of your life
I heard about this book on NPR a few years ago and decided to buy it. I enjoyed the book so much I bought 10 more paperbacks to give to friends and family. What is most interesting about this book and the genre of books I have since purchased is the life extension ...
A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World
Tony Horwitz
Henry Holt and Co.
, 2008
A fun way to learn America's "true" origin
The "truth" about America's origins is uncovered in interesting storytelling fashion. At times it reads like page turner. It might broaden a reader's viewpoint but it will make "little difference", because "...Myths didn't just trump fact; they helped create it." If ...

The Long Way
Bernard Moitessier
Sheridan House
, 1995
Simply the Best
I'm a soloist- a singlehander. I really appreciate the way that being in tune with the sea and its environs is expressed in this book. So beautiful it almost brought me to tears. One feels the swell beneath while reading this book. The last third or so discusses ...
I'Ve Been Gone Far Too Long: Field Study Fiascoes and Expedition Disasters (Travel Literature Series)
RDR Books
, 1996
Pleasantly, but not spectacularly, engaging
For anyone who harbors romantic notions of scientific fieldwork -- say, camping in a wilderness Eden with little more to do than observe wildlife and join in cultural exchanges with friendly natives -- this book offers a bucket of cold water. Researchers who have been ...
So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish
Douglas Adams
Random House Value Publishing
, 1985
One of these books is not like the others...
Be forewarned: while this book is unmistakably a Hitchhiker's Guide book, it's also quite unique among the series. If you're in it only for the zany off-the-wall humor, well, you might not be disappointed because there is certainly plenty of that here, but Adams ...
