Click to Calm: Healing the Aggressive Dog (Karen Pryor Clicker Book)
Emma Parsons
Sunshine Books (MA), 2004
Excellent training aid!
This book is a must for anyone who's using clicker training to help calm an aggressive or fearful dog. I don't think it will replace a training class, but it's an excellent reference.

This is the reference I paid money for...
I usually preview my books by borrowing them from the library to see if they are worth buying. This is one that I chose for my personal collection. I also checked out "Cooking with the Sun" (by Halacy and Halacy), which had some good introductory information and ...

Vampires and Baking
I'm a foodie, so it's more than a little fun to read a story where the protagonist obsesses about food, food creation, feeding people, food gadgets, and the assorted food mania that foodies get into. I've loved Robin McKinley stories since I ran into them in middle ...

A very fine and honest memoir. And for another remarkably candid memoir, this one by a compassionate and brilliant psychiatrist
I recommend That's How the Light Gets In: Memoir of a Psychiatrist by Susan Rako, M.D. The title comes from a song by Leonard Cohen: "There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." Rako's memoir is fascinating, freshly insightful, and ...

Fantastic Series
My daughter loves this series of books - the biggest problem we have is that she won't stop after one chapter. She's 5, so we're reading them to her now, but soon she'll be re-reading them herself. We started with book 1 of the Rainbow Fairies and are now on the ...

Thought provoking and truly original
This was a movie I didn't expect to like. I hadn't heard that much about it and wasn't all that enthusiastic about seeing another Jim Carey movie. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. First of all, this movie is truly original. That's rare these days. It revolves ...
