Asterix gets a little excercise in Greece
A bit of a change from other Asterix stories, this one lacks much usage of the famous "magic potion" when it would have helped, but the little Gaul manages just fine without. Very funny and a good lesson in ancient Greece.

Urban renewal hits ancient Gaul

Asterix In America
I think I had this Asterix comic book, but with another title which is "Asterix Conquers America" but I lost it, that's why I bought it again. As the rest of Uderzo & Goscinny's masterpieces, this adventure has the same fun loaded atmosphere but being taken by our ...

The sights , sounds and tastes of Corsica
First published in French in 1973 as Astrix en Corse, Asterix in Corsica was first published in English in 1979. Asterix and friends free a Corsican chieftain, exiled by the Romans, at the camp of Totorum, and he asks them to accompany him to Corsica, to see how they ...
Asterix in Britain (Asterix)

can't go wrong with it
The book was smaller than I expected(after all, a movie was made that was based on it), but, after all, it is a comic book and there is plenty of content in it(a picture is worth half a page from a normal book). Anyway, a thing worth bying.
Asterix and Cleopatra (Asterix)
Rene Goscinny
Orion, 2004
Truly a nose - I mean story - of legendary proportions!!!
This is by far my favorite of all the Asterix and Obelix stories. Goscinny is truly in his prime here. It's all there: the frustrated, abused bard, the shipwrecked pirates and of course, the nose of Cleopatra (a nose whose beauty is unsurpassed). As an added bonus, we ...
Asterix the Gaul (Asterix)

Gauls Getafix
Asterix lives in the Gaulish part of the Roman Empire. Doesn't he? Not quite, his village resists the Romans thanks to a magic potion. The Romans want some of this potion for themselves... "Asterix the Gaul" was the first Asterix comic, published in 1961. Rene ...

Caesar sets a cat among the pigeons...

Graphic SF Reader
There are a bunch of Asterix short stories here, including the story of the birth of Asterix and Obelix, as well as Dogmatix starring in an episode about the chickens of the village. The authors also send up their discovery of the idea of Asterix and Obelix, and do ...
Asterix and the Falling Sky (Asterix)
Albert Uderzo
Orion, 2005
Well, it's different... I'll give you that...
I'm going to have to reread this title to get a better idea of what exactly I like about it... It's quite different from the other titles, mainly, no goskinny. However, it puts the whole context of the ancient world into a context that I didn't expect to see: the ...

Taking care of Rocky Business
As a child, I read all of the "classic" Asterix books in Swedish. As an adult living in the U.S., I am reading them again to my children, but this time in English. In brief, Asterix and Obelix live in small village in Gaul(Ancient France) that Julius Caesar never ...
Asterix and the Laurel Wreath (Asterix)

Still the best after all this years.
Just read it and you'll find out why several people still read this humorous comic book.
Asterix the Gladiator (Asterix)
Rene Goscinny
Orion, 2004
Asterix the Gladiator
Lots of fun to read if you love plays on words and have some understanding of the Roman Empire, and classic literature. The comic book form makes it appealing to young readers as well, and may inspire them to look further into historical events parodied here.
Asterix the Legionary (Asterix)
Rene Goscinny
Orion, 2004
Asterix and Obelix the rescuers
Tip: out of stock does not mean you cannot find it in other bookstores. As a child, I read all of the "classic" Asterix books in Swedish. As an adult and now living in the U.S., I am reading them again to my children, but this time in English. This is a good classic. ...
