Invisible Prey John Sandford
Berkley, 2008
Excellent as always I've been reading Sandford's Prey books for the last few years. This one was as good as the others have been. Lucas Davenport delivers as always. Hopefully at some point we might get a movie, but until then at least there is no sign of an end to the series.

Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art Scott McCloud
Harper Paperbacks, 1994
He Understands What Art Really Is - Brilliant Work This is the type of book that looks at a genre and sees it's roots clearly in the basic structure of art and human perception. This is not a book about costumes and secret identities, but about how comics use the basic human archetypes and symbolic language to speak to ...

The Working Poor: Invisible in America David K. Shipler
Vintage, 2005
well researched I found Working Poor to be well-researched, and I prefer it's tone to Nickel and Dimed. Shipler was thorough and balanced in his view of the poor in America. In the various stories, Shipler takes us into the psyche of the "working poor", showing the different ...

Invisible Monsters Chuck Palahniuk
W. W. Norton & Company, 1999
Invisible Monsters Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk *****
Well written and captivating. If there ever was a novel that deserved the title a page turner then Invisible Monsters is it. It just may or may not be Up-Chucks best yet. If it isn't it is a close second.
The story of a ...

The Invisible Bond: How to Break Free from Your Sexual Past Barbara Wilson
Multnomah Books, 2006
Freedom, Forgiveness, and Healing This book is the best book I have read about past sexual relationships and how to break the bonds that seem to never let go. Barb's story is truthful, honest, and, at times, painful. The book shows all of us how God can take a broken and wounded woman and turn her ...

Invisible Cities Italo Calvino
Harvest Books, 1978
A Midnight Scent, A Cloudy Vista I had never read any Calvino before this spring and loved If On a Winter's Night a Traveler. Calvino writes like a more patient Borges, exploring the passages one at a time branching off the main cave gallery. In this breathtakingly elegant work, Calvino shows us ...

The Language of Mathematics: Making the Invisible Visible Keith Devlin
Holt Paperbacks, 2000
Highly recommended for students who fear or dislike mathematics When I studied physics in a grad school, I used math with fear and incompetence. This book brought back love for math that I felt before it got too hard for me to enjoy it.

Selling the Invisible: A Field Guide to Modern Marketing Harry Beckwith
Business Plus, 1997
Still amazingly current, though written in 1997 Heard a taped copy of SELLING THE INVISILBE: A FIELD
GUIDE TO MODERN MARKETING by Harry Beckwith and
was pleasantly surprised that I liked it as much as I did, in that
the title did not "grab me" . . . nor did the fact that it was
written in 1997.
However, that ...

Beauty: The Invisible Embrace John O'donohue

Love of the Beautiful; God; and the Passing of John O'Donohue I discovered John O'Donohue this past year (see my review "Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom") and have been working ever since to bring him to San Francisco's East Bay to speak and conduct a retreat. Unfortunately, as I was putting pen to paper to write my review of ...

The Invisible Man (Signet Classics) H.G. Wells
New American Library/Penguin Books, 2002
Short and great! H.G. Wells has created an extraordinary story about a man who becomes invisible, and how he struggles to survive in society given his unusual predicament. This story is as much about science fiction as it is about cultural norms and biases.
It's a short read and ...
