Anything Considered: A Novel Peter Mayle
Vintage, 1997
Should be sold as a script. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, which was my first introduction to Peter Mayle. It has caused me to go and purchase all of his other books...non-fiction as well. I think this would make a great movie, provided that the producers stuck to the manuscript.

Nice Dreads: Hair Care Basics and Inspiration for Colored Girls Who've Considered Locking Their Hair Lonnice Brittenum Bonner
Three Rivers Press, 2005
A great lesson in loc maintenance I'm so glad I read this book before I loc'd my hair! I assumed that locs would be so easy to maintain...I was wrong. If you want "nice dreads" there is considerable maintenance and care required. I now understand why some locs look beautiful, and others not so much. ...

Good Hair: For Colored Girls Who've Considered Weaves When the Chemicals Became Too Ruff Lonnice Brittenum Bonner
Three Rivers Press, 1994
Good for starters This is great book for starters. Even though she advocates texturizers, it is a good alternative. I recommend it to anyone considering wearing their hair in its natural texture. THe styles and car instruction that she recommends can be done on texturized and natural ...

Worth every penny... I bought this book on the "Bargain Book" aisle and I'm so glad I picked it up. My hair has been locked for 8 years, but I still learned so much about maintenance and care. This book is for you if you are just starting your locs or if you want to learn more about ...

For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf Ntozake Shange
Scribner, 1997
It Ain't The Same If Your African American This incredibly precious gem of a book was produced on Broadway back in the late 70's or early 80's but I was too young to see it at the time and probably would not have been able to relate to it anyway. In this prose poem, a "choreopoem" Shange depicts the hardships ...

Lee Considered: General Robert E. Lee and Civil War History Alan T. Nolan
The University of North Carolina Press, 1996
very interesting and factual this book shows the flaws of robert E lee. the author disproves many of the myth surrounding Lee about not supporting slavery and being a flawless general -eventhough he was a good general. overall, it is a good read for anyone who wants to learn about Robert E Lee.

Small Things Considered: Why There Is No Perfect Design Henry Petroski
Vintage, 2004
Cute book, but not a reference manual I expected a reference manual with a TOC that lists items and then a "chapter" on each one. Instead, it is written like a book that you have to read cover-to-cover. If you are looking for a good book on engineering, this is a pretty good one. But if you are looking ...

Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine Considered David W. Ramey, Bernard E., PhD Rollin
Wiley-Blackwell, 2003
Must-read for those who wish to include Alt in their practice! I worked for a "homeopathic" veterinarian and watched animals get worse or die as a result of her presecribed "treatments". Homeopathy is junk science and junk medicine and SHOULD have no part in AVMA-sanctioned veterinary medicine.
This book gives lots of ...
